Create Your Own Suntan Art

Here are two interesting ways:

The Sticker Method

  1. Select your sticker! Usual sun tattoo stickers can be a heart, playboy bunny, star, dolphin, lips, or anything that is clear enough to leave a distinct shape. It is even possible to create your own custom design by cutting a shape from sticker paper.
  2. Clean and dry the spot well where you'll place the sticker.
  3. Place the sticker on your skin, leaving it on in the tanning bed (repeat, repeat, repeat!) or when you are out in the sun for a long period of time. You could even use self-tanning lotion, applying it over the sticker so that the skin underneath is not exposed to the color.
  4. Remove the sticker and enjoy your new solar tattoo!

The Sun Block Method

  1. Before sunbathing or going to stand up in a tanning bed or booth, apply sunscreen to your exposed skin in a particular pattern. You can even “paint” the sun block through the open parts of a stencil. (Paintbrushes work great!)
  2. Remember NOT to apply normal, everyday sun screens when using lie-down tanning beds. They are damaging to the acrylic!
  3.  DON’T TOUCH! Be careful of smearing while exposing your body to tanning.
  4. Reapply accurately and suntan as often as possible for the best effect.
